Comfort

Comfort is as powerful thing.

People prefer to simply believe what they want to believe and what comforts them.  They avoid critical thinking like the plague - after all, it's hard work, they are not accustomed to it, and they have had little practice, even in school for many, and never in church for anyone.

Most people need their delusional comforts so badly they will protect them at all costs, even with violence, especially in defense of their religious and racist delusions.

The Rich leverage racism and zealotry to continue their exploitation of the rest of us.
